Whether planned, unexpected, painful, or exciting, life transitions call us to expand our capacity to love and live life more fully, offering us rich opportunities to learn, grow, and move into a higher level of purpose. However, the uncertainty of change can trigger deep fear and paralyzing stress, blocking our ability to access the answers and insight we need to move forward.
We are all inherently capable and deeply resourceful, and we have within us the clarity, strength, and wisdom we need to navigate life successfully and thrive.
Transitions are crossroads– opportunities. Maybe you are experiencing the loss of a loved one, a divorce, a career change, or an empty nest. Maybe you’re going through the rollercoaster of menopause, or maybe you have spent years taking care of others, putting others’ needs before your own, and you find yourself depleted, lost, and confused. Whatever it is, it’s clear that you can’t keep living the way you’ve been living. You’re forced outside the familiar, and the question is: What next?
If you are at this crossroads, you are in the right place.
Life Coaching can provide a safe place where you have the opportunity you have been yearning for to create a clear path forward —a path with greater clarity, resilience, and authenticity —a path where you Flourish.
Let me explain. Transitions naturally disrupt the flow of life and often stir up feelings of grief, fear, and confusion. Making decisions and taking action from a place of fear and reactivity is counterproductive. You may try to cling to what you had and who you were, but that doesn’t work out well. If you cling to your kids, they’ll resent you. Try clinging to a relationship that is past its best-by date, you’ll only experience more pain and frustration. But when you stop clinging to everything and everyone you’ve known– you feel untethered, adrift, and alone.
These feelings– fear, grief, lonliness– are normal parts of us, but they’re not who we truly are. This awareness can give us the space and perspective to process, heal, and access our inner wisdom, which will help us begin to create the next chapter in our lives.
The opportunities for positive change come when you commit to processing your emotions with honesty, self-reflection, intentional action, and a generous dollop of humor. Then these big life transitions become less scary, and more easeful. Even oh-so-fulfilling. If this resonates with you, let’s talk.
My Approach
Most of us are going through some kind of change and long to feel seen, heard, and understood from a place of nonjudgmental compassion. It is from this place that you can safely celebrate your successes, grieve your losses, and gain greater access to the qualities of your Core Self. The Core Self is the home of calm, clarity, connection, compassion, courage, confidence, curiosity, and creativity. It is from here that, together, we craft a vision of yourself and your future and begin to move towards it.
Our coaching relationship is a safe place that fosters presence, curiosity, deep listening, and compassion through gentle, non-judgmental accountability. It interweaves an exploration of the opportunities of your path as we identify the steps forward while addressing what is getting in the way.
My approach is rooted in the belief that every person already possesses the wisdom and resilience they need to navigate change; sometimes, however, parts of us hold beliefs that block us from accessing this inner wisdom. In my coaching practice, I draw from three main approaches:
Mindfulness to cultivate presence and awareness so that you can understand and accept yourself and your experience as it is, without judgment or pressure to fix it.
Somatic practices to gently reconnect with your body’s natural wisdom and cues. The body often knows what the mind hasn’t yet named, and learning to listen brings cohesion and clarity.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a compassionate way to help you get to know and care for the different “parts” of yourself that carry emotions, beliefs, and protective roles. By engaging with these parts, you begin to gain greater access to the qualities of your Core Self, such as clarity, calmness, and confidence.
Interweaving these approaches with co-active coaching skills creates a respectful, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where, together, we can explore your path forward and help you begin to move toward a life of balance, fulfillment, and authenticity. As your coach, I will support you in meeting yourself with kindness, connecting with your inner wisdom, and navigating change with greater ease, connection, and resilience while creating a life where you flourish.
